The Purple Conservators

A History of Wisdom and Spirituality

The Purple Conservators: Image

The Purple Conservator was born out of necessity. In the First Dark War, darkness was nearly overtaking Light. To counteract this and restore balance, the Light created a sixth Conservator, adding onto the original five. A woman named Cassia was chosen by the Light to hold the title. Cassia was already battling on the front lines of the war, as she and Angelos, the first Green Conservator, were in love. The Purple Forest was created accordingly outside of present-day London.

Cassia and Angelos spent nearly two thousand years together. However, things started to change in the late 1700s. Sudden bursts of Light energy in the Red Forest, along with time dilation in the Yellow and Orange Forests pointed to a prophesied phenomenon called the Leaking Light

With Sanctus Hortus trembling due to the imbalanced Light energy, Cassia held firm in the belief that she was the cause of the crisis. She felt that in peacetime, six Conservators threw the Light, which initially produced only five Conservators, out of balance. In the year 1857, much to Angelos’ despair, Cassia sacrificed herself and surrendered her life to the Light.

Angelos then made it his mission to find the next Purple Conservator. However, after passing through the portal to the Purple Forest, Angelos discovered that the Leaking Light’s effects had not passed. The Purple Forest had now been transported to Costa Rica. There, Angelos found a young woman named Bridget Mata. Bridget lived a lonely and secluded life in the Costa Rican rainforest. Terrified by the powers she had suddenly acquired, Bridget found solace in Angelos’ presence. Angelos soon discovered that Mortalitus, the King of Dark Spirits, was the one responsible for prolonging the Leaking Light, and that he had latched onto Bridget’s physical form. Bridget, hearing a voice in the trees, learned to summon all the Conservators that ever were to focus their Light energy to the Purple Forest, thus sealing Mortalitus’ spirit away once more. Having been told about the voice in Bridget’s head, Angelos realized that Cassia’s spirit had managed to cling onto the trees of the Forest. It is said that the Purple Conservator still hears that voice today.

In the year 1884, Bridget was the first Conservator to reenter Sanctus Hortus after Angelos and Nicholas Tucker’s deaths at the hands of a recently liberated Mortalitus. She helped assemble the other Conservators, including Daemon Holloway, Valentina Amante, and Richard Fairbanks, in the Second Dark War. Bridget, having a deep understanding of the Light’s energy and spiritual abilities, was able to tap into the Light itself and unleash an unbelievably powerful force which snuffed out each and every Dark Spirit in Sanctus Hortus. Alongside Elizabeth Tucker, the third Red Conservator, Mortalitus was vanquished.

Bridget lived on as the Purple Conservator until the year 1905. She found herself losing energy, and aging prematurely. It was years before Bridget realized what was killing her. Her use of the Light in 1884 had been too much for her spirit to handle. While it saved countless lives that day and turned the tide in the war against the Darkness, Bridget’s decision to use the Light was ultimately her downfall. She passed away in 1905, old and weak.

Bridget’s spirit called to Edward Mora, a young man living in a village very close to where Bridget had grown up all those years ago. To this day, he protects the Purple Forest as the third Purple Conservator.
